Do I need prior experience?

You do not need any prior teaching, coaching, or instructor experience to participate, just prior skiing or snowboarding experience. Our courses include all the training and certifications required to qualify and work as a snowsports instructor.

You also do not need to speak any foreign languages. In Japan, for example, we partner with international ski schools that deliver lessons in English. In fact, many of the hotels, bars, and restaurants are owned and operated by English-speaking expats, so there is no need to worry about the language or culture

What are the start/end dates?
For New Zealand, programmes usually start in July and run for roughly 10-11 weeks. Final dates are confirmed a few months prior to programmes starting. After the season ends, there will be opportunities to apply for jobs within various ski schools in Canada, Japan or New Zealand (following season).
Which resorts are available?
We operate in 10 different resorts across Canada, Japan, Europe, and New Zealand. The list of resorts includes some of the most awarded in the world, such as Zermatt (Switzerland), Niseko (Japan), SilverStar (Canada), and Cardrona (New Zealand). During the application process, our team can help you choose a suitable resort for your season if required, this may depend on facts such as which qualifications are right for you and your seasonal aspirations. Please note that there is a limited number of positions available, and they fill on a first-come, first-served basis, so enquire early to avoid disappointment.
What qualifications are available?

All of the qualifications offered in our courses are internationally recognized and interchangeable. Detailed information can be found in our resort brochures after checking your eligibility. Here is a snapshot of the qualifications offered:

- Canada: CSIA / CASI
- Europe: BASI / IASI
- Japan: NZSIA / SBINZ
- New Zealand: NZSIA / SBINZ

Across these destinations, we offer a range of level 1 only, and level 1 & 2 courses. Additionally, some of our courses include first aid training, avalanche safety training, and other additional certifications.

Who are your programmes for?

We are proud to welcome a broad range of candidates onto our programmes, but most commonly they fit into one of three categories:

- Looking to start a career as an instructor
- Planning a career break or work sabbatical
- Planning a gap year after school or around university

Note for any of our programmes which include instructor employment, a work visa (such as a Working Holiday Visa) is usually required. During the application process our team can support during the visa process.
